Ten Things That I Am Grateful For

1. Griffin and I are both very healthy
2. I am close to my family
3. Griffin is progressing every day
4. Griffin is on medicaid therefore all his therapies are paid for
5. Griffin tells me that he loves me.
6. I have friends who care about me/us.
7. Griffin teaches me something new every day
8. Griffin makes me laugh and that I am laughing again after a very long time.
9. I have medications that help me to not be depressed anymore.
10. I am loved and happy with who I am.

I believe that by being grateful for all that I have puts me in a place that facilitates health, wealth, and happiness. I believe that by following my bliss that the money will follow, it also makes me a better mommy to Griffin. I know that this may seem hokey to some of you but if you had been depressed for years and was never able to laugh or feel joy in your life then you would be eternally grateful for all the little things in your life too. I have noticed that when I write a post that is positive that I get fewer comments, almost none as it were but if I write something about being depressed or if I am down on myself that I have an overwhelming response. Why is that do you suppose? It doesn't really matter because I am going to be positive and grateful regardless. Complaining is not productive or conducive to getting out of a rut that I've been in for so very long. Griffin teaches me and now I am more receptive than ever to his lessons and I feel very blessed. Even though I don't get many comments on my positive posts I do hope that people are still reading them and maybe taking something away with them that they can use for themselves.

I can't say that I am grateful that Griffin has autism but I am grateful for the gifts that he has and for sharing in those gifts that invoke joy in my life and inspire me to always do better.

I can only speak for myself, but I tend to not comment as frequently on the happy posts for anyone because I know that they are in a good place and don't need as much support. But, when I see a sad and struggling post I feel the desperate need to reach and say, "hey. Its okay. We've all been there. We love you."
But, you know what Lora? You're right. When I write a happy post, I don't get many comments either. And, I want comments on those, too! I want to know that people are sharing in my joy and happiness!
You know what? I'm going to take your lead and post 10 things I am grateful for, too.
Lots of love to you. So happy to see that your meds are helping you see and appreciate the sun behind the clouds that we ALL have. :-)

Griffin has a great mom!

I'm with Melissa - just human nature I think - reach out when someone's struggling, sit back and enjoy when everything is trundling along smoothly.
Cheers

I'm smiling Lora, because you're right- we don't comment as often when we read a happy post. I just think "phew, another friend is doing ok." But it is so uplifting to read a happy post, and I like the idea of writing down what we are grateful for.

I agree with Melissa....Often I comment to encourage someone who is down, but I can also rejoice when things are great for you and others! Although I am familiar with "The Secret" and its philosophies, I am on board more so with The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Have a rock your socks off kind of day!!
