This is a wizard that I sculpted from clay years ago when I was pregnant with Griffin, he is about 6 inches tall. I wish that you could see the detail in his face and hands. Anyhow, I have posted this picture of him because I have started sculpting again and wanted my friends to see what I have done and for them to give me their opinions on what they think of him. I would like your opinion too. Tell me what you think of the wizard and maybe give me a suggestion of what I should make next. I am thinking along the lines of a mermaid or an old crone. I like creating pieces with lots of detail so keep that in mind when you give me your suggestions. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

In other news, the weather in Anchorage is absolutely gorgeous! It has been in the 70's with a nice breeze blowing and everything is so green and plush. So, for those of you who think that it is only cold up here all the time remember that we have far more sunlight than the lower 48 states which means that it gets quite warm. Anchoraage is in southcentral Alaska and the weather stays relatively mild compared to the more northern parts of the state, like Fairbanks that can reach temperatures in the high 90's and above and the sun will stay out for 24 hours on summer solstice. Enough of the useless facts about Alaska that you may have not even have been interested in in the first place.

Oh that is so cool! I love that wizard! I love looking and touching things with alot of detail, it grabs my eyes right away! Seeing things with detail and colors calms me alot. I think you should make The Griffin next! That would be cool! Big Brother likes your wizard too and says, "ask her to make Medusa with the snakes!" He loves that story:) You sure are gifted Lora and I am really excited to see your wizard and to hear that you are sculpting again! I can't wait to see your next project! How long did it take to make the wizard? I have always been curious about sculpting and how beautiful they look when they are finished. The colors you chose for your wizard are cool. We have a swap meet every weekend in downtown Phoenix (well right now it's sorta being moved to make way for the new light rail) but people sell art and all kinds of things there! Your wizard looks very professional! How exciting!

Wow! What talent you have! That is amazing! I also think a griffin would be cool. I'm glad you will be doing something for you too now. :)

I'm biased. Love the wizard and hope you can post the re-sized photo to show the detail now, Lora.

Wow! Love the wizard!! Can't wait to see the next project!!
I was actually quite interested in your facts about Alaska. The lower 48 is so disconnected from Alaska, that we don't hear much about you at all. Keep those facts coming!

It is clear Billy Ray would never make it in Alaska. I have a hard enough time getting him to sleep when the days get longer and it stays light later.

Have fund with your art projects.

It is good to see you doing one of your talents. And mr wizard is that beautiful royal blue that you like. Of course the next project should be the old crone it would go with mr wizard well. Even though the daylight is longer now I know it is beautiful and it does the soul good to have some warm days mixed in with the cooler ones. By the way mr wizard looks great the face is expressive and the blue eyes are just the right color. Great work.
