It's Time to Celebrate!

I was in the kitchen and heard the toilet seat slam and I thought "Oh no, Griffin is playing with the toilet" which would be highly unusual but still possible. So I sprinted to the bathroom to see what was going on and much to my surprise...................Griffin was sitting on the toilet with his diaper off saying to me "wanna go potty". I was so elated that he did that all on his own, that he actually wanted to go to the potty and not in his diaper so much that he took it off and sat down.
It was too late, he had already gone in his diaper before taking it off but what the heck, that doesn't matter. The point is that he tried to go, he made the association all on his own and boy oh boy am I ever proud of him. He was quite proud of himself too, he was just beaming with pride, grinning ear to ear. So, as far as I am concerned I believe that he is pretty darn close to being potty trained when he does stuff like that all alone. Way to go Griffin Blaise! YIPEE!!!!!
Another thing that he did tonight is that he asked for his blanket that my mom had made for him and he had never done that before. I had to call and tell my mom right away. That is just so special! I am grateful for my beautiful child Griffin and all the wonderful surprises that he has for me , his smile and his laughter too. Wow, I have got to be the luckiest mommy in the world.

HOORAY FOR GRIFFIN!!!! We used the "Toilet Training In Less Than A Day" method with Conor. Most of it didn't work (using the dolly as an example, having a potty celebration when he went), but practicing ten times how to go to the potty when there were accidents and rewarding every few minutes for dry pants really jived with my routine-loving boy. Perhaps reminding him to check his pants every few minutes and rewarding when they are dry will reinforce the goal? He'll get it!!

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW way to go Griffin. Lora please email me your address, i want to send griffin a special something this week for being so smart and achieving this huge leap.
If only i could get Jordan to go on the toilet again to do his number twos. Grrrrr. He is almost 8 and i dont want to imagine having to change pooie diapers into his teens.

Give griffin a big kiss from all of us, that is excellent news.
Hugs Kiralea & family
